I can't believe how much my German has improved over the last year. Arguing about cheesy German pop music with Mrs Morfitt is one of the highlights.
Although I found German a bit easier as I used to live there, I still enjoyed continually learning new aspects of the language and German history.

Unit 1
Spoken Expression and Response (30% of A mark) - Within your chosen topic area, you are provided with a stimulus document which forms the basis of an 8-10 minute discussion.
Unit 2
Listening, Reading and Written Response (70% of AS mark) - Listening comprehension, reading comprehension, 200-220 word letter, report or article, 2 hour 30 minute examination
Unit 3
Understanding and Spoken response (35% of A2 mark) - 11-13 minute examination, students take a stance on a controversial topic, defend their position for 4 minutes followed by general spontaneous discussion.
Unit 4
Research and Written Response (65% of A2 mark) - Written paper incorporating translation into German, a 240-270 word discursive or creative essay and a further 240-270 word essay on a cultural topic.
