Where does it lead?

A language can take you anywhere you want to go! You could go onto a job that specifically uses languages such as an interpreter, translator, teacher or diplomat. However, you will also find that most employers strongly value a language especially where you may be required to travel or deal with overseas clients/companies.

Why you should study German?

  • You will develop your knowledge of the German language.
  • You will be able to communicate with people across the world.
  • You will learn more about the Germanic Culture.
  • You will develop an understanding of contemporary issues.

What skills do I need to be successful in this subject?

  • Ability to be self motivated

  • Good understanding of grammatical concepts

Assessment

Writing, reading, listening and oral examinations.

Enrichment Activities

There is an annual Sixth Form trip to Berlin.

A LARGE dictionary is absolutely essential for your language study. You will be advised of other materials during the course.
