We follow the EDEXCEL specification and we encourse a more investigational approach. We use ICT packages including Autograph to enhance the learning and teaching of the subject.
Studying Mathematics A level will enable you to:
- Follow a degree in Mathematics or Engineering (although see also Further Maths)
- Follow a degree course in a related subject
- Have a head-start on others in scientific or business degrees and stand out from the crowd in the workplace
- Solve difficult problems logically and communicate an argument
What skills do I need to be successful in this subject?
- Interpret and use mathematical data and symbols
- Organise data efficiently
- Formulate problems into mathematical terms and select and apply appropriate techniques of solution
- Develop mathematical arguments by making logical deductions and manipulation of mathematical articles
- Criticise mathematical argument
Assessment
One written exam for each module. There is no coursework.

Graphic Calculator and scientific calculator required. No compulsory trips.
