EDEXCEL BTEC Diploma in Creative Media Production (TV & Film)

This is a vocational course which allows for accreditation at Subsidiary Diploma (equivalent to 1 A level) or Diploma (equivalent to 2 A levels)

Where does it lead?

This course will prepare you for all kinds of employment and for study at a higher level. It will develop the broad range of skills required for work in the media. You could enter employment in a media related field at trainee level.  You could start work at this level and undertake related NVQ or other occupational qualifications.

Why you should study Media Studies?

This vocational course allows you to hone technical and practical skills. It is these skills that are sought after if you want to work in the media. You will learn to use a range of professional software programs (Photoshop, Final Cut-Pro, Live Type, Garageband, Dreamweaver) to produce a portfolio of practical work. If you prefer assessment through coursework rather than examinations, then this course will suit you. It is assessed by your teachers and externally moderated by Edexcel.

What skills do I need to be successful in this subject?

It is vital that you have the following skills and attributes: creative ideas for new television programmes and films, the ability to meet deadlines, good time management, technical ICT skills, interest in analysing television and films, proficient literacy.
