Financial Support (Bursary)

Ensuring every student can access the opportunities of Sixth Form life.

At St Paul’s, we believe that no student should ever be held back by financial barriers. The 16–19 Bursary Fund exists to help students who need extra support with the costs of Sixth Form study, such as travel, books, equipment, or course-related expenses.

You arrive as you are, and you’re celebrated for it. You leave ready to take on the world.

Private: Support Financial Support (Bursary)

About the 16–19 Bursary Fund

This government-funded scheme provides financial assistance to students aged 16 to 19 who might otherwise find it difficult to continue in education. Each Sixth Form receives a fixed amount from the government to distribute fairly among those in genuine need.

Because funds are limited, priority is given to students and families with the lowest household income and the greatest financial need.

The bursary can help with:

  • Daily travel or transport costs
  • Books, stationery, and learning materials
  • Course-specific equipment (e.g. art supplies, lab coats, calculators)
  • Contributions towards field trips or educational visits

I thought about leaving, but I realised no one else would care about me the way St Paul’s does. Here, I’m not starting over, I’m moving forward.

Eligibility and Attendance

Eligibility is assessed during enrolment, and further details will be shared in September once you’ve joined the Sixth Form.

To continue receiving the bursary, students are expected to maintain excellent attendance and commitment to their studies. Payments are reviewed regularly and are conditional on full participation in lessons and activities.
