What is Physical Education?

Physical Education A Level is an interesting and challenging course for those who are interested in improving both their practical performance and their understanding of factors affecting it.

Students will also be required to analyse an coach others in PE.

Why study Physical Education?

A widely accepted course at universities which gives students the opportunity to gain an insight into the mind and bodies of all types of athlete.

Physical Education covers a wide range of topics in which a variety of skills are developed, from team work, to performance analysis, to psychological reasoning and debate.

This course teaches students a broad range of topics relating to physical education, from human physiology and psychology to the social and cultural impact sports has on society as a whole.

Factors Affecting Participation in Physical Activity and Sport

  • Section B: Skill acquisition
  • Section C: Sport and society

Factors Affecting Optimal Performance in Physical Activity and Sport

  • Students will be assessed as a performer or coach in the full sided version of one activity
  • Written/verbal analysis of performance
