What is Further Mathematics?

Further Maths is an extension of the Maths A Level. If you enjoy mathematics and are keen to develop your knowledge and skill even further, Further Maths provides an excellent opportunity to do so.

Further Maths develops on the Maths A Level by exploring more complex theories and ideas while challenging you to become more advanced and independent in your mathematical knowledge. Just some of the complex theories studied include Hyperbolic Functions, Further Calculus, 2D Elastic Collisions and Linear Programming.

Why study Further Mathematics?

The combination of Maths and Further Maths  A Levels can support you into so many degree-level subjects, or into employment in roles such as actuarial science, accountancy, business, finance, engineering, information technology and environmental science.

Maths and Further Maths A Levels are a great way to show any future employer or university that you possess an exceptional ability to think logically, understand complex terms and theories, a deep and extensive knowledge of mathematics and the perseverance to learn difficult subject material in the world of mathematics.
