What You’ll Study

You’ll extend your understanding of both Pure and Applied Mathematics, exploring advanced concepts that develop exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills valued by universities and employers.

Studying Further Mathematics at St Paul’s means stretching your thinking, exploring challenging concepts, and discovering the beauty of mathematics at a higher level.

  • Pure Maths – complex numbers, matrices, differential equations, vectors, and advanced algebra, geometry, and proof.
  • Applied Maths – further mechanics (momentum, circular motion, centres of mass) and further statistics (distributions, hypothesis testing, statistical modelling).

Entry Requirements

In addition to our standard entry requirements, a number of our courses have specific entry requirements to ensure you are ready to thrive in the subject. For Mathematics, you’ll need:

  • Grade 7+ in Maths (Higher paper)

These requirements are in place to help set you up for success and make sure you have the right foundation to enjoy the challenge of Sixth Form study.
